Digital Retinal Imaging

Digital retinal imaging, also known as a retinal photograph, is a non-invasive, diagnostic tool that produces digital high resolution, colored images of your retina, optic nerve, and blood vessels in the back of your eye. Digital retinal imaging involves using a specialised camera to capture detailed images of the interior surface of the eye.

The retina, optic nerve, and blood vessels are all examined in order to identify any signs of abnormalities, such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, or other retinal diseases.

Retinal imaging helps with keeping track of your eye health over time, as well as allowing us to empower you with better understanding of your eye health. We offer this free with every comprehensive eye examination.
